Sintra is one of the Portuguese paradises, declared by UNESCO World Patrimony as a cultural landscape in December 6 1995. Since 1875 tourists from all over the world stay at our Pension, attracted by the natural beauties, monuments and village history and in the meanwhile, they enjoy the sea in the beaches around. The village between the hill and the house was chosen by the Celts as the preferred spot to adore the moon. Later on the Romans called it - Mons Luanae - which means the Moon's Mountains. Conquered by Don Alfonso Henriques to the Moors, quickly it it became the Royal Family's preferred place. Since the Romans, voyagers are attracted to visit Sintra by it's Romantic and Poetic atmosphere. The Monserrate exotic gardens...

Returning to Sintra's historical and monumental aspects, there are many places not to miss : Village's Center, Pêna´s Palace, Santa Maria do Arrabalde, the Moors' Castle, Convento dos Capuchos, Monserrate´s gardens, Sintra' s National Palace, Seteais' Palace, Casa Museu Leal da Câmara, Museu Renato L. Garcia's Museum, Regional Museum, Sintra's Modern Art Museum, Anjos Teixeira's Museum, Ferreira de Castro's Museum, Archeologic São Miguel de Odrinhas' Museum. We also suggest a short trip to Mafra to visit the Convento de Mafra and the tapada de Mafra. We would like to distinguish from the region´s gastronomy the tipical pastery such as Queijadas de Sintra, the delicious Travesseiros, Pena´s pastry, the Galamares´s Nuts and the Fôfos de Belas. We remember the wine of the demarked region of Colares (Adega Regional de Colares).
